I was watching my performances from this past semester and I could help but think, “that…is not good enough.” I had what some would say is a successful audition season: made the Honors recital, got cast in the university opera and got accepted to a young artist program. But, as I listen, I am convinced it is not good enough. IT’S NOT GOOD ENOUGH! I don’t know…I am not good enough.

I’ve been told even what we can’t see as “good enough” shows potential for something better. We should never hear “perfect” so we are always practicing and working harder.
