Thoughts on my life and budding career and the things that distract me...like kittens and Doctor Who.

I am so frustrated with my singing today, I could punch a damn baby. How hard is it to stay on the breath? Answer….it’s not. SO WHY CAN I NOT DO IT! I apologize to my friends on Facebook and Twitter whom have already seen this, but I am sooooo frustrated!

My teachers says “you are working to hard” so I stop working so hard “now you vowels don’t line up” so I line my vowels up “now you are pinching the sound off” so I open my throat “now you are not on the breath” so I get back on my ‘breath’ “stop working so hard??” WTF!!! This is the last thing I need to conquer before I think about applying to doctoral school…why didn’t I learn this sooner you ask…because I didn’t. I am big, late blooming voice and for awhile most people didn’t even think I had a shot at singing professionally or winning contests or going to YAP programs. I am sorry for the anger in this tweet…but serious, punch. a. baby. GAH!

Seriously, I need some suggestions on what works for other singers.
